On November 23rd 2024, the second panel discussion titled 'Advancing Common Development Under the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) Framework' hosted by Great Wall Alumni Association (GWAA) was held in Duhok.
Chinese Consul General in Erbil Mr. Liu Jun addressed the event, summarizing the current progress of this year in promoting people-to-people exchanges and human resources training between China and KRI under the BRI cooperation framework.
More than 30 participants from the different ministries, political parties, universities, media outlets, NGOs in KRI who have been to China for the capacity-building training programs attended the event.
At the panel discussion, four scholars from China's Peking University, Tsinghua University, Fudan University and KRI's Duhok University shared their viewpoints on the topic related to China’s Economic Diplomacy towards the Middle East, the Synergy of China-Middle East development strategies, Vision and Prospects of Connectivity between China and the Middle East etc.
At the Q&A session, CG Liu Jun and the scholars interacted with the audience on further enhancing pragmatic cooperation between the two sides in the fields of clean energy, environmental protection, sustainable development technology innovation. China's crucial role in promoting peace and stability in the Middle East is also highlighted and welcomed by the audience.
