On 2nd June 2025, Chinese Consul General Mr. Liu Jun attended the final round of the 24th "Chinese Bridge" Chinese Language Proficiency Competition in Iraq.

The competition was held by the Chinese Consulate General in Erbil and Chinese Department, College of Language of Salahaddin University, which consisted of talent shows, speeches and quizzes.

During his speech at the opening ceremony, Mr. Liu Jun said that under the guidance of Chinese President Xi Jinping's concept of building a global community with a shared future  and the global civilization initiative, Chinese learning and studies have flourished in the Kurdish Region of Iraq in recent years.  The Chinese Consulate General will continue to support the KRG in fostering Chinese education, share development experience with our Kurdish friends, and promote mutual understanding between the peoples.
