The Ministry of Agriculture and Water Resources of the Kurdistan Regional Government announced that the region’s production of local olive oil reaches about 110 tons annually.

Ministry spokesman Hiwa Ali said that the region has 7 olive oil factories that receive the olive crop from farmers annually. There are three factories in Erbil that receive tens of tons of olives, and their annual oil production amounts to more than 20.4 tons.

He added: There is one factory in Sulaymaniyah that produces about 10 tons of oil, while in Dohuk there are two factories that produce about 3 tons of oil annually.

He continued: As for Halabja, there is a single factory that produces 60 tons, bringing the total production of olive oil in the Kurdistan Region to about 110 tons.
