On February 8th, Chinese Consul General in Erbil Mr. Liu Jun accompanied a team of professors from the Northwest Institute of Eco-Environment and Resources, Chinese Academy of Sciences, on a visit to the Environmental Protection and Improvement Board of the Kurdistan Regional Government, and attend a seminar on the theme of "Desertification Control in China". More than 30 people attended the seminar, including H.E. Abdulhakim Khasraw, Head of the Environmental Protection and Improvement Board and other officials of the Board, representatives of young people who took part in the training courses in China, and scholars from the Global Civilization Initiative Research Center.

Mr.Liu introduced Xi Jinping's thought on Eco-civilization and China's achievements in green development, and expressed China's willingness to strengthen ecological exchanges and cooperation with the KRG, so as to work together to build a community with a shared future for mankind.

Professor Wang Tao and Professor Zhao Xueyong from the delegation delivered their lectures, thoroughly explaining China's concept of desertification prevention and control, pointing out that the green development path with Chinese characteristics not only sets a model for harmonious coexistence between humanity and nature, but also contributes Chinese wisdom to global ecological governance.

The delegation also visited Sulaymaniyah University and conducted several field visits to local reservoirs, mountains, and pastures. Along the way, they actively shared their experiences and answered questions, and have been highly praised by the locals.
