On April 29, 2026, Consul General Liu Jun had an exclusive interview by Kurdistan 24, a mainstream media in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq, during which he elaborated on China's position on the current regional situation, the hot issues, and cooperation between China and the KRI.

Liu Jun stated that the protracted regional conflict is severely impacting security, stability, and economic development in the Middle East. Chinese President Xi Jinping, in his recent dialogues with regional leaders, put forward a four-point proposition, emphasizing staying committed to the principle of peaceful co-existence and national sovereignty and international rule of law and a balanced approach to development and security. It is consistent with the concept of building a community with a shared future for mankind and the four major global initiatives, providing a Chinese solution for peace and stability in the Middle East. In recent years, China and the KRI have witnessed thriving economic and trade cooperation and cultural exchanges. The Chinese Consulate General is willing to further promote deeper practical cooperation between the two sides and welcomes more friends from the KRI to visit China for business and tourism.
