In late May 2026, Consul General Liu Jun held separate meetings with Mr. Safeen Dizayee, Head of Department of Foreign Relations of KRG, Mr. Fawzi Hariri, President of Diwan of the KRI Presidency, Ms. Bayan Sami Abdul Rahman, Senior Advisor to KRG Prime Minister for Foreign Affairs and Climate Change, Mr. Hoshyar Siwaily, Head of KDP Foreign Relations Office, Mr. Darbaz Kosrat Rasool, Head of Relations Bureau of PUK, and Mr. Kurdawan Jamal, Parliamentary Bloc Leader of the New Generation Movement.

During these meetings, Liu Jun comprehensively briefed on the important achievements and significance of China-U.S. Summit and China-Russia Summit, and expressed China's willingness to continue promoting cooperation and exchanges with the regional government and political parties of the KRI under the new circumstances, contributing to local economic and social development.

All parties highly commended China's positive role in promoting world peace and stability, and stated that the Kurdistan Regional Government and political parties attach great importance to developing cooperative relations with China and will continue to firmly support the one-China principle.
