On July 28, 2026, Deputy Consul General Zhang Jianxin of Chinese Consulate General Erbil visited the Bright Technical and Vocational Institute (BTVI) of Sulaymaniyah Province, and held a meeting with teachers and students there who had recently returned from a study tour to China. Dr. Danyar Abubaker Salih, Chairman of the Board of Trustees, Dr. Jawhar Jalal Waso, Dean of BTVI, Dr. Sarwar Mohammed, Head of China Studies Center at University of Sulaimani, and Mr. Gong Teng, Operation and Maintenance Project Manager of Sinoma (Suzhou) Construction Co., Ltd. in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq (KRI), also attended the meeting.

Zhang Jianxin congratulated the 17 teachers and students from BTVI on their successful study tour to China, noting that it vividly demonstrated the positive social responsibility of Chinese enterprises in the KRI, and effectively promoted people-to-people exchanges between the two sides. Zhang noted that the KRI is an important partner of China in highquality Belt and Road cooperation, and China is ready to continue sharing its development experience and further deepen practical cooperation with the KRI.

The leadership of BTVI expressed high appreciation and sincere gratitude to the Chinese side for organizing this vocational training program. Teachers and students who participated in the tour shared their experiences and impressions of their visit to China, saying that they had gained a great deal and benefited immensely. They spoke highly of the remarkable achievements of China's path to modernization and expressed their hope to further learn from China's experience in the future.
